The Rt Hon. the Lord Forsyth of Drumlean was born Michael Bruce Forsyth on 16 October 1954 , and is a Conservative Life peer sitting in the House of Lords since 14 July 1999. He previously sat in the House Of Commons as MP for Stirling.


In the past, Lord Forsyth of Drumlean has held the position of Secretary of State for Scottish Office (1995 to 1997), Minister of State (Home Office) (1994 to 1995), Minister of State (Department of Employment) (1992 to 1994), Minister of State (Scottish Office) (1990 to 1992), Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Scottish Office) (1987 to 1990) in government.
