The Rt Hon. the Lord Maude of Horsham was born Francis Maude on 04 July 1953 , and is a Conservative Life peer sitting in the House of Lords since 26 May 2015. He previously sat in the House Of Commons as MP for Horsham and North Warwickshire.

He was Shadow Minister (Cabinet Office) (2007 to 2010), Without portfolio (2005 to 2007), Shadow Secretary of State (Foreign Affairs) (2000 to 2001), Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer (1998 to 2000), Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport (also Shadow Deputy Prime Minister) (1997 to 1998) in opposition.
He was Party Chair, Conservative Party.
