Rt Hon Alistair Burt MP

Rt Hon Alistair Burt MP was born Alistair James Hendrie Burt on 25 May 1955 in Bury, England and is the Conservative MP for North East Bedfordshire. He has been an MP since 07 June 2001 and has previously sat in the House of Commons for Bury North.
Alistair Burt is currently Minister of State (Department for International Development) (Joint with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office), a government position he has held since June 2017.
In addition to this role, he is also Minister of State (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) (Joint with the Department for International Development).
In the past, Alistair Burt has held the position of Minister of State (Department of Health) (2015 to 2016), Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) (2010 to 2013), Minister (Department of Social Security) (Disabled) (1995 to 1997), Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department of Social Security) (1992 to 1995) in government.
He was Opposition Whip (Commons) (2008 to 2010), Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government (2005 to 2008), Shadow Spokesperson (Education) (2001 to 2002) in opposition.
He was Deputy Chair, Conservative Party.
