Rt Hon Andy Burnham



Rt Hon Andy Burnham was born Andrew Murray Burnham on 07 January 1970 in Liverpool, England and is the Labour MP for Leigh.

Rt Hon Andy Burnham ceased to be a member of the House of Commons on 03 May 2017 (general election).


In the past, Andy Burnham has held the position of Secretary of State for Health (2009 to 2010), Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport (2008 to 2009), Chief Secretary to the Treasury (2007 to 2008), Minister of State (Department of Health) (Delivery and Quality) (2006 to 2007), Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Home Office) (2005 to 2006) in government.

He was Shadow Home Secretary (2015 to 2016), Shadow Secretary of State for Health (2011 to 2015), Shadow Secretary of State (Education and Election Co-ordinator) (2010 to 2011), Shadow Secretary of State for Health (2010 to 2010) in opposition.
