Pete Wishart MP

Perth and North Perthshire


Pete Wishart MP was born Peter Wishart on 09 March 1962 in Dunfermline, Scotland and is the Scottish National Party MP for Perth and North Perthshire.


Pete Wishart is currently Shadow SNP Spokesperson (Constitution), an opposition position he has held since June 2017.

In addition to this role, he is also Shadow SNP Leader of the House of Commons.

He was Shadow SNP Westminster Group Leader (Leader of the House of Commons) (2015 to 2017), Shadow SNP Spokesperson (Culture and Sport) (2010 to 2015), Shadow SNP Spokesperson (Constitution) (2010 to 2015), Shadow Spokesperson (Justice) (2007 to 2010), Shadow Spokesperson (Home Affairs) (2007 to 2010), Shadow Spokesperson (International Development) (2005 to 2010), Shadow Spokesperson (Cabinet Office) (2005 to 2007), Opposition Whip (Commons) (2001 to 2007), Shadow Spokesperson (Transport) (2001 to 2005), Shadow Spokesperson (Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) (2001 to 2005), Shadow Spokesperson (Culture, Media and Sport) (2001 to 2010) in opposition.
