Rt Hon David Lidington MP was born David Roy Lidington on 30 June 1956 in Lambeth, England and is the Conservative MP for Aylesbury.


Mr David Lidington is currently Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice, a government position he has held since June 2017.

In the past, Mr David Lidington has held the position of Lord President of the Council and Leader of the House of Commons (2016 to 2017), Minister of State (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) (European issues and NATO) (2010 to 2016) in government.

He was Shadow Minister (Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) (2007 to 2010), Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (2003 to 2007), Shadow Minister (Food, Farming and Environment) (2002 to 2002), Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (2002 to 2003), Shadow Financial Secretary (2001 to 2002), Shadow Spokesperson (Home Affairs) (1999 to 2001) in opposition.
