Rt Hon David Lidington MP was born David Roy Lidington on 30 June 1956 in Lambeth, England and is the Conservative MP for Aylesbury.
Currently sitting on the Speaker's Committee for the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (since July 2016), Public Accounts Commission (since July 2016), House of Commons Commission (since July 2016), Mr David Lidington does not chair at this time.
Mr David Lidington is currently Lord President of the Council and Leader of the House of Commons, a government position he has held since July 2016.
In the past, Mr David Lidington has held the position of Minister of State (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) (European issues and NATO) (2010 to 2016) in government.
He was Shadow Minister (Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) (2007 to 2010), Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (2003 to 2007), Shadow Minister (Food, Farming and Environment) (2002 to 2002), Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (2002 to 2003), Shadow Financial Secretary (2001 to 2002), Shadow Spokesperson (Home Affairs) (1999 to 2001) in opposition.
