Ian Austin MP

Dudley North


Ian Austin MP was born Ian Austin on 06 March 1965 in Dudley, England and is the Labour MP for Dudley North.


Currently sitting on the Panel of Chairs (since September 2017), Foreign Affairs Committee (since September 2017), Ian Austin does not chair at this time.

He has in the past sat on Education, Skills and the Economy Sub-Committee (Nov 2015 to Mar 2016), Education Committee (Jul 2015 to May 2017), Home Affairs Committee (Nov 2013 to Mar 2015).


In the past, Ian Austin has held the position of Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Communities and Local Government) (Planning) (2009 to 2010), Minister of State (Regional Affairs) (West Midlands) (2008 to 2010), Assistant Whip (HM Treasury) (2008 to 2009) in government.

He was Shadow Minister (Work and Pensions) (2011 to 2013), Shadow Minister (Culture, Media and Sport) (2010 to 2011), Shadow Minister (Communities and Local Government) (2010 to 2010) in opposition.
