David Simpson MP

Upper Bann


David Simpson MP was born David Simpson on 16 February 1959 in Moy, Northern Ireland and is the Democratic Unionist Party MP for Upper Bann.


Currently sitting on the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee (since July 2015), David Simpson does not chair at this time.

He has in the past sat on Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Sub-Committee (Feb 2016 to Nov 2016), Northern Ireland Affairs Committee (Jul 2010 to Mar 2015), Northern Ireland Affairs Committee (Nov 2008 to May 2010), Transport Committee (Jul 2007 to Nov 2008), Statutory Instruments (Joint Committee) (Oct 2005 to Nov 2009), Statutory Instruments (Select Committee) (Oct 2005 to Nov 2009).


David Simpson is currently Shadow DUP Spokesperson (Business, Innovation and Skills), an opposition position he has held since May 2015.

In addition to this role, he is also Shadow DUP Spokesperson (Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).

He was Shadow DUP Spokesperson (Communities and Local Government) (2010 to 2015), Shadow DUP Spokesperson (Business, Innovation and Skills) (2009 to 2015), Shadow Spokesperson (Education) (2007 to 2010), Shadow Spokesperson (Transport) (2007 to 2009), Shadow Spokesperson (International Development) (2007 to 2010), Shadow Minister (Trade and Industry) (2005 to 2007) in opposition.
