Rt Hon Sir Edward Davey MP

Rt Hon Sir Edward Davey MP was born Edward Jonathon Davey on 25 December 1965 in Nottingham, England and is the Liberal Democrat MP for Kingston and Surbiton. He has been an MP since 08 June 2017 and has previously sat in the House of Commons for Kingston and Surbiton.


In the past, Sir Edward Davey has held the position of Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change (2012 to 2015), Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Business, Innovation and Skills) (Employment relations, Consumer and Postal Affairs) (2010 to 2012) in government.

He was Shadow Secretary of State (Foreign Affairs) (2007 to 2010), Without portfolio (2006 to 2007), Shadow Secretary of State (Trade and Industry) (2006 to 2006), Shadow Secretary of State for Education (2005 to 2006), Shadow Spokesperson (Office of the Deputy Prime Minister) (2002 to 2005), Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury (2001 to 2002), Shadow Minister (Olympics and London) (2000 to 2003), Opposition Whip (Commons) (1997 to 2000), Shadow Spokesperson (Treasury) (1997 to 2001) in opposition.
