Jim Dowd MP

Jim Dowd MP was born James Patrick Dowd on 05 March 1951 in Bad Eilsen, Germany and is the Labour MP for Lewisham West and Penge.


Currently sitting on the Petitions Committee (since October 2015), Science and Technology Committee (Commons) (since July 2015), Jim Dowd does not chair at this time.

He has in the past sat on Science and Technology Committee (Commons) (Jun 2012 to Mar 2015), Draft Mental Incapacity Bill (Joint Committee) (Jul 2003 to Nov 2003), Health Committee (Jul 2001 to May 2010).


In the past, Jim Dowd has held the position of Lord Commissioner (HM Treasury) (Whip) (1997 to 2001) in government.

He was Shadow Spokesperson (Northern Ireland) (1995 to 1997), Opposition Whip (Commons) (1993 to 1995) in opposition.
