The Lord Horam

The Lord Horam was born John Horam on 07 March 1939 , and is a Conservative Life peer sitting in the House of Lords since 04 September 2013. He previously sat in the House Of Commons as MP for Orpington and Gateshead West.


Currently sitting on the EU External Affairs Sub-Committee (since June 2015), Lord Horam does not chair at this time.

He has in the past sat on Communications Committee (Jun 2014 to Mar 2015), Delegated Powers and Regulatory Reform Committee (Nov 2013 to May 2014), Foreign Affairs Committee (Jul 2005 to May 2010), Liaison Committee (Commons) (Dec 1997 to Jul 2003), Environmental Audit Committee (Nov 1997 to Jul 2005), Public Accounts Committee (Apr 1992 to Mar 1995). He has also chaired in the past Environmental Audit Committee (Nov 1997 to Jul 2003).


In the past, Lord Horam has held the position of Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department of Health) (1995 to 1997), Parliamentary Secretary (Duchy of Lancaster Office) (1995 to 1995), Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Transport) (1976 to 1979) in government.
