Rt Hon Sir Vince Cable MP



Rt Hon Sir Vince Cable MP was born John Vincent Cable on 09 May 1943 in York, England and is the Liberal Democrat MP for Twickenham. He has been an MP since 08 June 2017 and has previously sat in the House of Commons for Twickenham.


Sir Vince Cable is currently Leader of the Liberal Democrats, a parliamentary position he has held since July 2017.

In the past, Sir Vince Cable has held the position of Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills (2010 to 2015) in government.

He was Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer (2003 to 2010), Shadow Spokesperson (Trade and Industry) (1997 to 2003), Shadow Spokesperson (Treasury) (1997 to 1999) in opposition.

He is currently Leader of the Liberal Democrats , and was Acting Leader, Liberal Democrats
