The Earl of Shrewsbury DL was born Charles Chetwynd-Talbot on 18 December 1952 , and is a Conservative Excepted Hereditary peer sitting in the House of Lords since 16 February 1981.


Currently sitting on the Services Committee (since September 2016), The Earl of Shrewsbury does not chair at this time.

He has in the past sat on Intellectual Property (Unjustified Threats) Bill [HL] Special Public Bill Committee (Sep 2016 to Nov 2016), Works of Art Committee (Lords) (Nov 2009 to Jan 2014), Draft Civil Contingencies Bill (Joint Committee) (Jul 2003 to Nov 2003).
