Excepted Hereditary


The Lord De Mauley was born Rupert Ponsonby on 30 June 1957 , and is a Conservative Excepted Hereditary peer sitting in the House of Lords since 15 March 2005.


Currently sitting on the EU Financial Affairs Sub-Committee (since May 2016), Lord De Mauley does not chair at this time.

He has in the past sat on Trade Union Political Funds and Political Party Funding Committee (Jan 2016 to Feb 2016), Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and Representations) Bill [HL] (Sep 2011 to Dec 2011), Joint Committee on Security (Jun 2010 to Oct 2012).


In the past, Lord De Mauley has held the position of Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) (2012 to 2015), Lord in Waiting (HM Household) (Whip) (2010 to 2012) in government.
