The Baroness Barker

The Baroness Barker was born Elizabeth Barker on 31 January 1961 , and is a Liberal Democrat Life peer sitting in the House of Lords since 31 July 1999.


Currently sitting on the Citizenship and Civic Engagement Committee (since June 2017), Select Committee on Charities (since May 2016), Baroness Barker does not chair at this time.

She has in the past sat on Draft Protection of Charities Bill (Joint Committee) (Nov 2014 to Feb 2015), Mental Capacity Act 2005 Committee (May 2013 to Feb 2014), Draft Mental Health Bill (Joint Committee) (Jul 2004 to Jul 2005), Draft Mental Incapacity Bill (Joint Committee) (Jul 2003 to Nov 2003).


Baroness Barker is currently Liberal Democrat Lords Spokesperson (Voluntary Sector), an opposition position she has held since September 2015.

She was Liberal Democrat Lords Spokesperson (Voluntary Sector and Social Enterprise) (2015 to 2015) in opposition.
