The Rt Hon. the Lord Henley

Excepted Hereditary


The Rt Hon. the Lord Henley was born Oliver Michael Robert Eden on 22 November 1953 , and is a Conservative Excepted Hereditary peer sitting in the House of Lords since 28 February 1978.


Lord Henley is currently Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Work and Pensions), a government position he has held since December 2016.

In addition to this role, he is also Lord in Waiting (HM Household) (Whip).

In the past, Lord Henley has held the position of Minister of State (Home Office) (2011 to 2012), Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) (2010 to 2011) in government.
