The Rt Hon. the Lord Rooker was born Jeffrey William Rooker on 05 June 1941 in England, and is a Labour Life peer sitting in the House of Lords since 16 June 2001. He previously sat in the House Of Commons as MP for Birmingham Perry Barr.

Currently sitting on the Select Committee on Charities (since May 2016), EU Energy and Environment Sub-Committee (since June 2015), Lord Rooker does not chair at this time.
