Rt Hon Sir Edward Garnier QC was born Edward Henry Garnier on 26 October 1952 in Wupperthal, Germany and is the Conservative MP for Harborough.

Rt Hon Sir Edward Garnier QC ceased to be a member of the House of Commons on 03 May 2017 (general election).


In the past, Sir Edward Garnier has held the position of Solicitor General (Attorney General's Office) (2010 to 2012) in government.

He was Shadow Attorney General (2009 to 2010), Shadow Minister (Justice) (2007 to 2009), Shadow Minister (Home Affairs) (2005 to 2007), Shadow Attorney General (1999 to 2001) in opposition.
