The Lord Triesman was born David Maxim Triesman on 30 October 1943 , and is a Labour Life peer sitting in the House of Lords since 09 January 2004.
Currently sitting on the EU External Affairs Sub-Committee (since June 2015), Lord Triesman does not chair at this time.
In the past, Lord Triesman has held the position of Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills) (Intellectual Property and Quality) (2007 to 2008), Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) (2005 to 2007), Lords in Waiting (Whips) (2003 to 2005) in government.
He was Shadow Spokesperson (Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) (2010 to 2014), Shadow Spokesperson (Business, Innovation and Skills) (2010 to 2011) in opposition.
