Rt Hon John Whittingdale MP



Rt Hon John Whittingdale MP was born John Flasby Lawrance Whittingdale on 16 October 1959 in Sherborne , England and is the Conservative MP for Maldon.


In the past, Mr John Whittingdale has held the position of Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport (2015 to 2016) in government.

He was Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport (2004 to 2005), Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (2003 to 2004), Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport (2002 to 2003), Shadow Secretary of State (Trade and Industry) (2001 to 2002), Shadow Spokesperson (Treasury) (1998 to 1999), Opposition Whip (Commons) (1997 to 1998) in opposition.

He was Vice-Chair, Conservative Party 1922 Committee.
