Chris Leslie

Nottingham East


Chris Leslie was born Christopher Michael Leslie on 28 June 1972 in Keighley, England and is the Labour (Co-op) MP for Nottingham East. He has been an MP since 06 May 2010 and has previously sat in the House of Commons for Shipley.

Chris Leslie ceased to be a member of the House of Commons on 03 May 2017 (general election).


In the past, Chris Leslie has held the position of Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Constitutional Affairs) (2003 to 2005), Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Office of the Deputy Prime Minister) (2002 to 2003), Parliamentary Secretary (Cabinet Office) (2001 to 2002) in government.

He was Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer (2015 to 2015), Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury (2013 to 2015), Shadow Minister (Treasury) (2010 to 2013) in opposition.
