The Rt Hon. the Lord Pendry was born Thomas Pendry on 10 June 1934 in England, and is a Labour Life peer sitting in the House of Lords since 04 July 2001. He previously sat in the House Of Commons as MP for Stalybridge and Hyde.


In the past, Lord Pendry has held the position of Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Northern Ireland Office) (1978 to 1979), Lord Commissioner (HM Treasury) (Whip) (1974 to 1977) in government.
