Rt Hon Frank Field MP



Rt Hon Frank Field MP was born Frank Field on 16 July 1942 in Edmonton , England and is the Labour MP for Birkenhead.


Currently sitting on the Ecclesiastical Committee (Joint Committee) (since October 2015), Liaison Committee (Commons) (since September 2015), Frank Field chairs the Work and Pensions Committee (June 2015).

He has in the past sat on Draft Modern Slavery Bill (Jan 2014 to Apr 2014), Ecclesiastical Committee (Joint Committee) (Oct 2010 to Mar 2015), Public Accounts Committee (May 2002 to Jul 2005), Ecclesiastical Committee (Joint Committee) (Jan 2002 to May 2005), Social Security (Apr 1992 to Mar 1997), Social Services (Jun 1987 to Oct 1991), Liaison Committee (Commons) (Jun 1987 to Mar 1997), Social Services (May 1979 to Jan 1981). He has also chaired in the past Draft Modern Slavery Bill (Jan 2014 to Apr 2014), Social Security (Nov 1993 to Mar 1997), Social Services (Jun 1987 to Oct 1991).


In the past, Frank Field has held the position of Minister (Department of Social Security) (Welfare Reform) (1997 to 1998) in government.

He was Shadow Spokesperson (Education) (1980 to 1981) in opposition.
