The Lord Watts

The Lord Watts was born Dave Watts on 26 August 1951 , and is a Labour Life peer sitting in the House of Lords since 23 October 2015. He previously sat in the House Of Commons as MP for St Helens North.


Currently sitting on the EU Home Affairs Sub-Committee (since May 2016), Lord Watts does not chair at this time.

He has in the past sat on House of Commons Governance Committee (Oct 2014 to Dec 2014), Administration Committee (Jul 2010 to Mar 2015), Foreign Affairs Committee (Jul 2010 to Jun 2012), Committees on Arms Export Controls (formerly Quadripartite Committee) (Jul 2010 to Jul 2012), Finance and Services Committee (Jul 2005 to Oct 2005), Finance and Services Committee (Nov 1997 to May 2001).


In the past, Lord Watts has held the position of Lord Commissioner (HM Treasury) (Whip) (2005 to 2010) in government.

He was Opposition Whip (Commons) (2010 to 2010) in opposition.
