Rt Hon David Hanson MP



Rt Hon David Hanson MP was born David George Hanson on 05 July 1957 in Liverpool, England and is the Labour MP for Delyn.


Currently sitting on the Justice Committee (since September 2017), Panel of Chairs (since June 2017), David Hanson does not chair at this time.

He has in the past sat on Intelligence and Security Committee of Parliament (Oct 2016 to May 2017), Draft Investigatory Powers Bill (Joint Committee) (Nov 2015 to Feb 2016), Justice Committee (Oct 2015 to May 2017), Panel of Chairs (Oct 2015 to May 2017), Public Service (Oct 1996 to Mar 1997), Welsh Affairs Committee (Apr 1992 to Jan 1996).


In the past, David Hanson has held the position of Minister of State (Home Office) (Crime and Policing) (2009 to 2010), Minister of State (Ministry of Justice) (2007 to 2009), Minister of State (Northern Ireland Office) (2005 to 2007), Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Wales Office) (1999 to 2001), Assistant Whip (HM Treasury) (1998 to 1999) in government.

He was Shadow Minister (Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) (2015 to 2015), Shadow Minister (Home Affairs) (2011 to 2015), Shadow Minister (Treasury) (2010 to 2011), Shadow Minister (Home Affairs) (2010 to 2010) in opposition.
