The Rt Hon. the Lord Jopling DL was born Thomas Michael Jopling on 10 December 1930 , and is a Conservative Life peer sitting in the House of Lords since 05 June 1997. He previously sat in the House Of Commons as MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale and Westmorland.
Currently sitting on the International Relations Committee (since May 2016), Lord Jopling does not chair at this time.
He has in the past sat on EU Sub Committee C - External Affairs
In the past, Lord Jopling has held the position of Minister of State (Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food) (1983 to 1987), Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury (Chief Whip) (1979 to 1983), Lord Commissioner (HM Treasury) (Whip) (1973 to 1974), Assistant Whip (HM Treasury) (1971 to 1973) in government.
He was Shadow Minister (Agriculture, Fisheries and Food) (1975 to 1976) in opposition.
