The Lord Moynihan

Excepted Hereditary


The Lord Moynihan was born Colin Moynihan on 13 September 1955 , and is a Conservative Excepted Hereditary peer sitting in the House of Lords since 30 April 1997. He previously sat in the House Of Commons as MP for Lewisham East.


Currently sitting on the Delegated Powers and Regulatory Reform Committee (since June 2015), Lord Moynihan does not chair at this time.

He has in the past sat on The Arctic (Jun 2014 to Feb 2015), Olympic and Paralympic Legacy Committee (May 2013 to Nov 2013), EU Sub-Committee D - Environment and Agriculture (Nov 2006 to Nov 2007).


In the past, Lord Moynihan has held the position of Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department of Energy) (1990 to 1992), Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department of Environment) (Sport) (1987 to 1990) in government.
